First-time setup

This guide walks you through connecting Talkyto to your Twilio account for the first time. By the end you’ll have default numbers configured and a subscription active.

Before you begin, make sure you have:

  • A Twilio account with an active phone number or a verified caller ID
  • An upgraded Twilio account if you plan to make or receive calls (trial accounts don’t support outbound calling)
  • A Talkyto subscription (you can purchase one during setup)

Install Talkyto from the App Store (iOS) or Google Play (Android). Open the app after installation.

Sign in with your Talkyto credentials. If you don’t have an account yet, create one from the sign-in screen.

After signing in, Talkyto prompts you to choose how to connect:

  • Business code — enter a code provided by your organization to join a shared account. See service accounts for details.
  • Personal Twilio account — connect your own Twilio credentials.

To connect a personal Twilio account:

  1. Select I have a Twilio account.
  2. Open the Twilio Console in a browser.
  3. Copy your Account SID and Auth Token from the dashboard.
  4. Paste both values into Talkyto and confirm.

After connecting, Talkyto asks you to choose default numbers:

  1. Select a number for outgoing calls from the list of numbers on your Twilio account.
  2. Select a number for outgoing messages.

You can change these defaults later in Settings.

Check that your numbers are correctly set:

  • Go to Settings > Voice and confirm the call number shown.
  • Go to Settings > Messaging and confirm the messaging number shown.

If a number is missing or incorrect, update it in the relevant settings section.

You must have an active subscription to send and receive calls and messages.

  1. Go to Settings > Subscriptions.
  2. Select a plan and complete the purchase, or tap Restore to restore a previous purchase.

For full details on plan options and billing, see manage subscriptions.

Place a test call or send a test message to confirm everything is working. If calls fail, verify that your Twilio account is upgraded and that the correct number is selected in Settings > Voice.

If Talkyto didn’t configure your Twilio webhooks automatically, follow the manual Twilio setup guide.
