Troubleshoot messages

Use this guide to diagnose messaging problems in the Talkyto App. Start with the quick checklist, then go to the section that matches your issue.

  1. Confirm you have an active Talkyto subscription.
  2. Verify your Twilio Service Account is configured correctly in Settings > Service Accounts.
  3. Check that Messaging settings are correct: go to Settings > Messaging and confirm a default number is selected and Allow incoming SMS is enabled.
  4. Validate geographic permissions in your Twilio Console.

OTP and one-time password messages not arriving

Section titled “OTP and one-time password messages not arriving”

Talkyto doesn’t block or filter OTP messages. All SMS delivery goes through Twilio — if an OTP isn’t arriving, the issue originates from Twilio’s filtering or carrier restrictions.

Common causes:

  • Twilio spam detection flagging the message
  • Carrier policies on short codes or alphanumeric senders
  • High message volume triggering rate limits
  • Unregistered sender information

What to do: contact Twilio Support and provide the following:

  • When the message was sent (date and time, with timezone)
  • The sender and recipient phone numbers
  • The message SID, if available (visible in your Twilio Console call/message log)
