Voicemail configuration
Talkyto lets you configure voicemail at two levels: a service-account default that applies to all numbers, and a per-number override that applies to a specific number only. The per-number setting takes precedence when set.
Where voicemail settings live
Section titled “Where voicemail settings live”- Service-account default: Settings > Voice > Voicemail
- Per-number voicemail: Settings > Voice > Phone number settings > Additional services > Voicemail configuration
Open the location that matches the scope you want to configure.
Voicemail options
Section titled “Voicemail options”Both locations expose the same set of options. Configure them once and the same controls appear at either level.
Voicemail Voice
Section titled “Voicemail Voice”Choose the text-to-speech voice Talkyto uses to read your Voicemail Message to callers. Available options include voices such as Woman and Man.
Voicemail Message
Section titled “Voicemail Message”Enter the greeting text Talkyto reads to callers when voicemail activates. The default text is:
“It appears that the call cannot be established. Please leave a message after the beep.”
Replace this with any custom message. Talkyto reads it aloud using the voice you selected.
Voicemail Timeout (seconds)
Section titled “Voicemail Timeout (seconds)”Set how many seconds Talkyto rings before routing the call to voicemail. The default is 30 seconds. Increase this value to give yourself more time to answer.
Recording
Section titled “Recording”Tap Recording to record a voice message directly in the app. Talkyto uses your recording as the voicemail greeting instead of the text-to-speech message.
MP3 File
Section titled “MP3 File”Tap MP3 File to import an audio file from your device. Talkyto plays the file as your voicemail greeting.
Service-account vs. per-number voicemail
Section titled “Service-account vs. per-number voicemail”| Setting level | Scope | When it applies |
|---|---|---|
| Service-account | All numbers | When no per-number voicemail is configured for the incoming number |
| Per-number | One specific number | Always overrides the service-account default for that number |
Use the service-account default for a consistent experience across all your numbers. Use per-number voicemail when a specific number needs a different greeting or timeout.
Applying changes
Section titled “Applying changes”Changes take effect immediately when you save. There’s no delay between saving and the updated greeting playing for callers.
